One of the organizations that we have the great privilege of working with is Sole Hope - they are working to provide shoes & jobs for one of the most impoverished areas in Africa: Uganda. There has been a lot of media buzz in the last couple of weeks regarding Uganda, but don't let it stop there - now that it's got your attention, move to action. Sole Hope is different than some organizations that bring shoes into communities - Sole Hope is there to stay and make a lasting impact on the community and teach the people in the communities how to provide shoes for their own, which is a very valuable contribution.

We like to do some of the work for you to find other artists that support the idea of hand-making and originally designing the pieces that make up your lifestyle - cool accessories that have their origins in the creativity of an artisan rather than mass-production. The first semi-warm day of the year always gets me anxious for summer to get here as soon as possible. 

Three things you can't get away from summer in Idaho: bikes, rivers, and mountains. I grew up hearing about Smokey the Bear quite a bit in the summers when we'd learn about campfire safety. Imagine my surprise when I saw that even Smokey has a custom belt buckle!

I answer the phone. "Hi, I'm looking for the Freddie Krueger buckle?"

So after I Google search Freddie Krueger and we do a little more talking, I find out that this was the buckle he was interested in. I don't reccomend doing that Google search, although I'm sure you're all curious now. 

The Slag Belt Buckle is one of our buckles that takes welding techinque and makes it into something cool that you can wear. It comes in our oval and rectangle shapes. So, in terms of a metal belt buckle, this one is hard to beat in terms of craftsmanship and hand-made coolness. It's a unique fashion buckle that will add some art to your current wardrobe.

 

John Lennon once said "All you need is love." Good advice, we think. He also said "I am the walrus," which doesn't really relate to this, but we still like it. 

Valentine's Day is really a polarizing holiday - people tend to either love it or hate it. I say it's a fun way to get and give quirky gifts and be extra cheesy with your significant other.
